Michelle Fischbach: The land of 10,000 loopholes — ending the era of unchecked fraud in Minnesota
Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach Minnesotans have always taken pride in our work ethic and our commitment to looking out for our neighbors. We pay our taxes with the understanding that those hard-earned dollars will be used to build our roads, defend our borders, and provide a hand up for the most vulnerable among us. But lately, Minnesotans have watched in disbelief as hard-earned tax dollars have been treated like a playground for fraudulent activity. The scale of corruption is breathtaking.
Fischbach: New tax rules ease burden on western Minn. families
As we reach the middle of tax filing season, families across Western Minnesota are doing something they have not been able to do in a long time: looking at their tax returns with a sense of relief rather than dread. For too long, hardworking people were forced to bear the brunt of an out-of-touch, high-tax agenda.

Fischbach: ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ is a win for farmers, seniors and small businesses
On Independence Day, President Donald Trump celebrated our country with a historic win for the American people: he signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law. I was honored to play such a pivotal role in the development of this legislation as a member of the Ways and Means Committee, which oversees tax policy, trade, Medicare, and more. The committee traveled the country, including holding an official hearing in Kimball, Minnesota.
Michelle Fischbach update
Last week, I stood in support of a House resolution to condemn the attacks that killed Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and injured Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. These victims committed themselves to public service and believed they were working to make their state a better place. There is no scenario in which that dedication should […]

One Big Beautiful Bill Act passes in the House
House Republicans are committed to delivering on our promise for tax relief for the American people. Ag industry wins in trade deal
This last week, the White House announced a deal has been to reduce barriers to American exports in the United Kingdom, and it is a great example of how this administration is fighting for the American people. For years, nations around the world have been discriminating against American agriculture, and under the Biden Administration, the US agricultural trade deficit soared […]
Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach seeks another term in Congress
Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach announced her campaign for another term as the Minnesota District 7 Representative. Fischbach was elected to Congress in 2020 and recently secured re-election with more than 70% of the vote. “It is a new day in Washington, DC, with President Trump in the White House and republican majorities in Congress,” said Fischbach. “We have been given an […]
Guest Editorial: Rural hospitals, taxpayers paying the price for bad immigration policies
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The past four years of the Biden-Harris Administration have resulted in the worst border crisis in our country’s history. Open borders and numerous other poor policies of the current administration have flung the gates wide open for the radical agenda that Gov. Tim Walz and state Democrats have pushed through in St. Paul, many of which are putting an unprecedented strain on critical systems across the state.

Exclusive with Sen. John Boozman - 8/19/24 Edition
1. Interview: Sen. John Boozman on this year’s appropriations plans, the Farm Bill, national security, and more By: Matthew Foldi Sen. John Boozman (R., Ark.) used to have a “respectable profession,” as an eye doctor. And since 2001, he’s moved from medicine to serve Arkansans in the House and now in the Senate, where he may soon chair the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.
Op-ed: Rep. Michelle Fischbach: Tim Walz is bad for Minnesota and bad for America
I’ve been a proud Minnesotan my whole life. It’s where I chose to raise my children, and I’ve been honored to serve the people of our great state in several roles. Minnesota has a storied tradition of political engagement, and while we haven’t always agreed on everything, we are able to work together to put our state first. But in 2019, Gov. Tim Walz took office, and that all changed. Under his watch, we witnessed Minneapolis burn. Minnesota is now an “abortion sanctuary” state.
Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act (H.R. 6918)
A bill must be passed by both the House and Senate in identical form and then be signed by the President to become law. Bills numbers restart every two years. That means there are other bills with the number H.R. 6918. This is the one from the 118th Congress. We recommend the following MLA-formatted citation when using the information you see here in academic work: GovTrack.us. (2024). H.R. 6918 — 118th Congress: Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act.
Proudly standing with Israel
Last week, with overwhelming bipartisan commitment, U.S. Congress passed a resolution standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists. Not since the Holocaust have the Jewish people come under such direct attack as they have since Oct. 7. I pray for and grieve with the families who have lost their loved ones in these horrific and vile attacks by Hamas.
MIL-OSI USA: ICYMI: Following final listening session, House leaders are ready to craft Farm Bill
Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn “G.T.” Thompson, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), and Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach (MN-07) authored an op-ed for AgWeek reaffirming their commitment to working together to introduce a Farm Bill that revitalizes rural America, supports our producers and consumers, and remains accountable to taxpayers.
Following final listening session, House leaders are ready to craft farm bill
Minnesota is more than just the land of 10,000 lakes, it is also home to thousands of farms that grow, produce, and raise the food our country eats every day. As current and former Members of the House Committee on Agriculture, we are committed to being leaders for American agriculture, which includes standing up for our hardworking producers, processors, ranchers, foresters, consumers, and every small business across the agriculture value chain.
Pro-Life Congresswoman Introduces Bill to Help Pregnant Moms
June 24 marks one year since the historic Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision took a monumental step towards protecting the most precious and basic right: the right to life. Thanks to this decision, the American people are now able to decide the issue of abortion through their elected officials, rather than putting policy in the hands of appointed judges. And, contrary to what pro-abortion activists claim, Americans are ready to protect life.

US is ready for a world without Roe v. Wade
The drafters of the U.S. Constitution envisioned it as a lasting framework for our new country’s legal system that would stand the test of time. In their view, the words of our Constitution and its subsequent amendments contained explicit meaning that provided strength and certainty as the supreme law of the land. However, the framers could not have imagined that nearly two centuries later, the Supreme Court would stray so far from the constitutional text to create their own version of laws.
Letter: The Republican infestation
When your home is infested with termites you are completely unaware of the damage they are doing to the foundation of your home. As the strength of the beams and basement diminishes you go happily about your life. Republican termites are eating the foundation of our democracy one bite at a time. Voter suppression is a subtle means to make sure only the right candidates are elected. Gerrymandering is a process that takes place in the dark and destroys the democracy our founders imagined.
Letter: It's nice to see Tony Bender write something that's not dripping with sarcasm
By Todd Gross January 12, 2022 11:00 AM I would like just congratulate Tony Bender on the excellent article in Wednesday's Forum on Hunter Pinke . I had no idea he did anything except sarcastic, sometimes entertaining, columns. Well done, Tony. It was a pleasure to read and understand his plight. Todd Gross lives in Fargo. This letter does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The Forum's editorial board nor Forum ownership.
Letter: The Forum needs to look at how they cover crime, addiction and mental illness
It’s is highly frustrating seeing journalists of The Forum doing stories about people that have struggled with mental health and or addiction issues. Over and over, they will post mugshots or write stories about people's involvement with the court systems but never a full updated story about that person. Recently we have seen a few examples of trash clickbait reporting. One uses a mugshot of a man to announce that he was acquitted of charges.
Letter: Our democracy is in grave danger
After January 6, 2021, we thought our national embarrassment named Donald Trump would finally be sidelined. Inciting a violent attack on the citadel of our democracy to stop the Congress and the vice president from doing their job and overthrow an election would end anyone’s support for him. In fact, condemnation from Trump’s own party followed. Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C., said, “Count me out.
Letter: Liberals continue to flip-flop on COVID-19 policy
Remember when Pres. Joe Biden was running for office and supposedly got elected last year? He kept promising to not shut down America, rather to shut down the COVID-19 virus. "I will not shut down America!" he shouted, "I'm going to shut down the virus!" Talk is cheap and reality is cruel sometimes. Just the opposite has happened and even Biden now admits it. Remember when CNN had a daily death total on their screen of people dying from COVID-19?
Letter: Successes of 2021 and hope for 2022
Former Minnesota Lt. Gov. Michelle Fischbach Forum News Service file photo Despite increasing, disappointing partisanship in federal government, I was able to see what can be accomplished when both parties work together in my work on the House Committee on Agriculture. In 2021, we were able to pass several pieces of legislation that will benefit Minnesota’s 7th District and rural areas around the country.
Letter: North Dakota workers deserve a living wage
This week some of the lowest-paid workers in the Midwest will see an increase on their next paycheck, but not here in North Dakota. Montana, Minnesota and South Dakota all have minimum wage laws indexed to inflation meaning when inflation goes up, so does the minimum wage. Minimum wage workers will now receive $9.20 in Montana, $9.95 in South Dakota, and $10.33 in Minnesota. North Dakota's minimum wage has been stagnant at $7.25 for 14 years due to legislative inaction.

Congresswoman Says “I’m Proud to Spend Every Day Fighting” to Protect Babies From Abortion
LifeNews Note: The following remarks were delivered by pro-life Rep. Michelle Fischbach at the Friday morning general session of the 2021 National Right to Life Convention. Good morning! Thank you for having me here today and for allowing me to play a role in this 50th annual National Right to Life Convention. It is truly an honor. And more importantly, thank you for your tireless work in defending the right to life.
OPINION EXCHANGE | We must meet the crisis on America's border ... with Canada
Americans on the northern border are in crisis. For more than a year, crossing the Canadian border has remained off limits for all but "essential" travel. But what began as a temporary restriction to slow the spread of COVID-19 has morphed into an indefinite closure, upending life in a region that relies on cross-border travel for everything from medical care to employment to tourism.
REP. FISCHBACH: Politics Of Playgrounds - RSC Women Aim To Aid Working Moms
At the start of 2020, the unemployment rate for women was at a 75-year low. In fact, under President Trump’s pro-growth economy, women accounted for more of the workforce than men for only the second time in U.S. history. Enter the COVID-19 pandemic, which halted virtually every sector of the economy, shuttered nearly three quarters of America’s schools and dramatically shifted the childcare situation for many.

Michelle Fischbach endorses Jeff Howe for District 13
I am proud to have served the constituents in Senate District 13 for 22 years. It is now an honor to serve the people of Minnesota as lieutenant governor. When I made the decision to resign my Senate seat I knew there was only one person I would endorse to run. And that person is Rep. Jeff Howe. I have served with Jeff in the Legislature and have seen firsthand his commitment and service to the people of Central Minnesota. He has a history of service to others.
