25 March 2026 - Financial Inclusion Strategy - Oral evidence
This will be the third session of the Committee’s work assessing the Government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy. MPs will hear from a range of organisations which specialise in dealing with the social and personal impacts of financial exclusion. Chief Executives from Fair4All Finance, The Money Charity and the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute will appear alongside a Director from the Good Things Foundation.
Majority of UK Adults Received No Financial Education in School, as Many Struggle to Manage Household Finances
Almost three quarters (73%) of UK adults did not receive any education on money during their time at school, despite more than two thirds (68%) saying they would have benefited from it. According to research by credit app, ClearScore, conducted in partnership with The Money Charity, the UK’s financial capability charity, a lack of financial education during school years has had a negative impact on people’s financial decision making later in life.
Zopa-led Coalition Pledge2025.org Launches Financial Education Programme for Those Hit Hardest by the Cost-of-living Crisis
The 2025 Fintech Pledge (pledge2025.org) has partnered with The Money Charity to launch an ambitious programme of financial education for those hit the hardest by the cost-of-living crisis. The programme will start immediately and is expected to run until December 2025. Its first year of operations will be funded by Pledge2025 members Zopa bank and credit marketplace ClearScore.

Ten new members have joined the 2025 Fintech Pledge to help tackle the UK’s cost-of-living crisis. They add their capabilities to those of a coalition of UK fintechs and their industry partners who have teamed up to help Britons across the country combat the rising cost of living.
