Mwaah, a women's magazine distributed in East Herts & West Essex. As an indie local launch, it was a brilliant, trial by fire experience.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Resilience is the biggest buzzword at the moment. Take a step back from your story and really embrace the red pen– criticism makes us better!

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

There are too many to choose from, but one magazine I've subscribed to for years and always return to is MsLexia, the mag for women writers.
