1 INTRODUCTION Science teacher leaders (STLs) are key resources in supporting local implementation of science education improvement efforts (Luft et al., 2016; Wenner, 2017; Wenner & Campbell, 2017; Whitworth et al., 2021, 2022). As current or former classroom teachers, STLs have science knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge based on years of experience teaching science in local schools. They also understand how to navigate the available resources locally for their reform efforts.
