Spoiler warning: Habeas Corpus ends with Jonathan regaining his freedom, but the victory is deliberately incomplete. Marjorie Estiano plays Inez Franco, the law professor at the center of Habeas Corpus. Inez forms a criminal-review group to examine Jonathan’s conviction, bringing five students into a case that becomes increasingly personal for everyone involved. The Netflix legal drama builds its tension through that group rather than through Inez alone. Each character has a different reason to keep digging, and the people around the case expose the pressure that can sit behind a supposedly settled verdict.
