Entering this week’s standings, the Polytech field hockey team is a game behind Henlopen North Division leader Cape Henlopen. With four games remaining, two against Henlopen Conference teams, the Lady Panthers only have a few opportunities left to improve their ranking ahead of this year’s tournament. Having won nine of their first 11 games, Polytech has put themselves in a good position for the postseason.

With the boys soccer season in its final week of regular season play, teams on the playoff bubble must act now. The Sussex Central Golden Knights have played solidly throughout the year, putting themselves within striking distance of a tournament berth. If they’re to do so, they’ll need to finish the season strong. After making the tournament a season ago, the Golden Knights came back with optimism, and that mentality showed throughout the team.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Milford cross country team has their final regular season meet of the year. While both teams have struggled in the wins and losses department, some young talent has burst onto the scene with what seems to be a bright future. However, Milford has to focus on now. After their season finale this afternoon against Dover and Sussex Academy, the Buccaneers turn toward the playoff season.
