AWS Adds Agentic Workspace to Kiro AI Coding Tool

AWS has introduced Kiro Crew, an open source workspace that lets developers assign asynchronous coding tasks to autonomous AI agents. The workspace can coordinate multiple agents, preserve context across sessions and display each agent’s activity, tool calls and results in real time. Kiro Crew can observe developer workflows and recommend reusable AI skills based on recurring tasks.

Menlo Security today at the Black Hat USA conference extended its cloud platform to secure artificial intelligence (AI) agents at runtime by sanitizing the web pages and files they read to neutralize prompt injection attacks and block data exfiltration. Company CEO Bill Robbins said the Menlo Agent Runtime Security (MARS) platform created to isolate browsers has now been extended to AI agents anytime they execute a task.

Researchers Document Instance of AI Agent Being Used to Hack Other Agents

Pilar Security documented what it describes as the first case of one AI agent being used to exploit another. A prompt injection flaw involving Google’s ADK for Python could trigger privileged workflows and potentially enable remote code execution and credential theft. Google removed the affected workflows, hardened the repository and confirmed the issues had been fixed. AI agents should use minimum privileges, short-lived credentials and independent human approval gates.
