Intern at eventual employer Buckeye Sports Bulletin, did menial tasks while in high school. First story was about new scoreboard in 1984.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, manual AND electric.

How is social media changing news?

Twitter can be a source of breaking news, for both accredited/non-accredited journalists. Topics that weren't covered before are now.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email/Direct message

Who do you wish followed you?

Nick Saban

Why did you become a journalist?

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Ohio State wrestler Tommy Rowlands and his Olympic aspirations in 2008.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Early morning, as I do my best thinking/work before most people are having their first cup of coffee. Any time after 7 a.m.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Covering the Ohio State beat, editor wanted me to ask fans "which Buckeyes player would you be?" Not favorite, but athleticism/skill-set.

Either on my phone or hunting for a new series to binge watch on one of the myriad streaming services.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

TIME Magazine
