VALE — On June 25, the Vale City Council tabled its decision on filling a vacant seat, awaiting for the mayor to join in on the discussion. There were five Council members in attendance, in order to form a quorum;  however, Mayor Tom Vialpando was not in attendance. On the agenda, there was a letter of interest from Chad Cooper, who attended the meeting to share his experience growing up in the area, along with some of his credentials.

ONTARIO — During its most recent meeting, the Ontario City Council took action that enabled a rezoning of a tax lot for Edge Performance Sports. The council had to take three votes to confirm the action, all of which were done on unanimous roll-call votes following a public hearing.

ONTARIO — During its most recent meeting Malheur County Fair board committee members discussed a range of projects. These included barns, power and fencing projects while also discussing the details of the fair, which is July 30 to Aug. 3. They also discussed topics that will impact those people planning on staying on the fairgrounds throughout fair week.
