How is social media changing news?

Journalists need to be connected to the audience. They're just as curious as we are, and can help us stay on track for what's important.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means helping people stay informed, and keeping an eye out for injustice. You want a working democracy? Keep up with the news.

What's your favorite social network?

Somedays it's Twitter, other days it's Facebook. I tend to have more personal connections, or friends, on Facebook, and readers on Twitter.

Who do you wish followed you?

NPR's Don Gonyea. One of my Journo idols. He's also from Michigan, I met him at an MSU seminar. We're connected on Facebook, but not Twitter.
