How is social media changing news?

I think social media is like a double-edged sword. On the one hand, social networks are democratizing the creation and dissemination of news, something that can be bad and good at the same time. It is good, because these networks allow people who are not usually represented in the media to have a voice and to share it with the world, thus amplifying their messages, but they also give a voice to those people or groups who transmit hate speech, for example. At the same time, it is also a challenge for journalists to keep track of all the information that is shared on social media sites, because not all the information that is shared is trusthworthy.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
