Audio to both TV and AirPods?
I have a mild hearing impairment and my wife and I prefer vastly different TV volumes. I watch most content on an AppleTV 4k. I can easily switch the audio to go through my AirPods, but then the TV sound stops and my wife can't hear. Is there any way to output sound through both AirPlay (to the pods) and through HDMI (to the TV speaker) at the same time?
Car classes and rates
Today, 2:14 pm Original Poster Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: DCA Programs: United 1K 2MM, Hilton Gold Posts: 2,454 Car classes and rates I just reserved an LCAR for a weekend, and the rate was substantially less than a Midsize/Aisle. Is this a mistake? I don't quite follow why National would do hat. If they have more LCARs than they can rent, why not plop them on an aisle? « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Posting Rules

How to unjoin BW Rewards Today, 7:25 am Original Poster Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: DCA Programs: United 1P MM, Hilton Gold Posts: 2,147 How to unjoin BW Rewards I stayed at a BW for the first time in maybe a decade. Nothing against the brand, it just works out that other properties fit better for me on any given trip. Somehow this stay triggered joining BW Rewards. And that has somehow triggered email from them every single day. Sometimes twice - the same message, a few minutes apart.
No First Class seats in Washington-Chicago Market (?)
No First Class seats in Washington-Chicago Market (?) Here's the message: "! There are no First/BusinessFirst/International Business Class seats available on UA-XXX in the Washington, DC, US (DCA - National) to Chicago, IL, US (ORD - O'Hare) market. " Here's how I get this message. I have a flexible fare (E booking class). If I try (on united.com) and move to a flight in coach, they are very limited, but they are there. I'm only offered U fares, even if E is available which is odd.

The End Of IMF Credibility (Or Why Christine Lagarde Should Be Fired... But Won't Be)
Submitted by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth blog, The IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) issued a report a few days ago entitled ‘The IMF and the Crises in Greece, Ireland, and Portugal’. It is so damning for managing director Christine Lagarde and her closest associates, that it’s hard to see, certainly at first blush, how they could all keep their jobs. But don’t be surprised if that is exactly what will happen.
In Damning Report, Chilcot Inquiry Slams Blair Over Legal Basis For Iraq War
The Chilcot Inquiry, a British public inquiry into the nation's role in the Iraq war, was published moments ago. The massive report covers almost a decade of UK government policy decisions between 2001 and 2009 and took seven years to complete. It covers the background to the decision to go to war, whether troops were properly prepared, how the conflict was conducted and what planning there was for its aftermath, a period in which there was intense sectarian violence.

What Changed? Bernie Sanders Will Vote For Hillary, Less Than 24 Hours After Saying "No"
On "The Late Show" on Thursday night, just last night, Bernie Sanders gave a clear "No" when asked if he was going to endorse Hillary Clinton, because Sanders wanted his supporters to be heard, and the Sanders camp wasn't sold on Clinton's ability to move in the direction that was necessary. The next morning, like magic, Bernie pulled a Dennis Gartman, and flipped when he told MSNBC that he was going to vote for Hillary after all.
Brexit: All The Latest News, What Happens Next And How To Trade It
Sterling drops, banking stocks tumble and peripheral EGB and credit spreads widen after the U.K.’s vote to leave the EU; verbal and direct intervention by central banks help currencies off earlier lows. U.K. PM David Cameron has resigned, announcing there needs to be a new prime minister in place by October.
Eerie Calm Across Markets One Day Before The Main Event: Asia, Europe, US Unchanged
There is an eerie quiet across markets, one day before the year's main risk event: with the UK referendum vote starting in less than 24 hours and results due out shortly after, it is as if even the algos have stopped frontrunning other algos, in a market so thin and illiquid even the smallest order can result in a gap, either higher or lower.
Trump Slams Hillary As "The Most Corrupt Person To Ever Seek The US Presidency"
Following a scathing speech by Hillary Clinton yesterday, in which the Democratic candidate warned a Trump presidency would unleash a recession (one which is long overdue anyway, 7 years into the business cycle), Trump on Wednesday retaliated with a blistering attack of his own on Hillary Clinton, assailing her as “a world class liar” and failed secretary of state who can’t be trusted on issues ranging from the turmoil in the Middle East to immigration and trade.
The FBI Has Planted Surveillance Cameras Throughout Seattle, You Just Can't Know Where
Last month, we noted that the FBI had hidden microphones in public places throughout the Bay Area - now it's Seattle's turn. A federal judge recently blocked the city of Seattle from releasing information about surveillance cameras that the FBI has placed around the city, saying the disclosure could jeopardize ongoing investigations ABC News reports.
Brexit: Made In UK, Designed In Brussels
Submitted by Pieter Cleppe via EUObserver.com, If the British vote for Brexit, the European Union will be reaping what it has sown. In 1992, Denmark voted against the Maastricht Treaty, which established the possibility of creating a common European currency. In France's referendum on the same issue, only 51.1 percent voted in favour. What if Europe’s leaders had listened to the doubts of their citizens and ditched the Maastricht Treaty?
"The Fed Has Failed" - A Disturbing New Warning From Bank Of America
First Deutsche Bank, then Citi, and now Bank of America. Following Wednesday's disastrous FOMC statement and Janet Yellen press conference, we predicted that it is only a matter of time before we get a return of the "Policy Failure" narrative.
The Bursting Of Silicon Valley's Real Estate Bubble Has Now Spread To San Francisco
"It's not the absolute feeding frenzy that we had for the last three springs before this one. By any definition for the rest of the world, it's still a very, very strong market. It's just not as crazy hot as it's been." That's how Patrick Carlisle, chief market analyst at Paragon Real Estate Group in San Francisco describes the recent housing market. A Paragon report that was released last week shows that home prices in San Francisco have cooled significantly.
European Bank Stocks On The Ledge
Via Dana Lyons' Tumblr, Already plumbing multi-year lows, European banks are threatening to fall off another chart “cliff”. We have written several posts regarding the significant challenges that face U.S. bank stocks from a technical perspective (see our May 21 post, “Rate Hike? This Chart Says Don’t ‘Bank’ On It”). However, their struggles pale in comparison to their counterparts across the pond.

European Peripheral Bond Risk Explodes: Forget Brexit, "Now It's Italy's Turn"
If there was any doubt that Brexit was "relevant" then the surges in European peripheral bond risk, despite massive bond-buying by The ECB, should send shivers up and down the status quo huggers that are shrugging the referendum decision off because "central banks will provide liquidity." However, it's not just The UK that EU officials need to worry about, as The Globalist notes, Germany will have to change its policies if it wants to avoid exit of other countries from the eurozone.
GAO Report Reveals The FBI Has Built A Massive Facial Recognition Database
In what should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody (as we previewed it here years ago), a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reveals that the FBI has compiled a massive facial recognition database without any oversight.
16% Of Europe's IG Corporate Bonds Now Yield Below 0%
It's not just about negative yielding sovereign debt anymore. As a reminder, in its latest calculation in early June, Fitch estimated that the total amount of fixed-rate sovereign debt trading at negative yields grew to $10.4 trillion ($7.3 trillion long term and $3.1 trillion short term) as of May 31, up 5% from the $9.9 trillion that Fitch calculated as of April 25. Of this Japan still by far the largest source.

Approximately 20 killed and 42 injured after a gunman opened fire and took hostages at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, police said early Sunday. Officials said a hostage situation developed after the gunman stormed the Pulse Nightclub about 2 a.m. "We are looking at probably in the range of 20 [dead], but we don't want to give you an exact figure," Orlando Police Chief John Mina said. The gunman was shot dead about three hours later when a SWAT team entered the club NBC reports.
Economists DESTROY the Myth that War Is Good for the Economy
Debunking the Stubborn Myth that War Is Good for the Economy About.com notes: One of the more enduring myths in Western society is that wars are somehow good for the economy. It is vital for policy-makers, economists and the public to have access to a definitive analysis to determine once and for all whether war is good or bad for the economy. That analysis is below.
As the World Wakes Up To The Obvious, Bitcoin Values Spike 42%+ and Banks Ponder Folly of Ignoring Network Effects
Bitcoin is up 40% over the last two weeks. Whoa! The public Bitcoin network has been growing steadily since its inception 7 years ago - without much of a hiccup. That should tell you something. The “Bitcoin is bigger than Google” analogy that Balaji is using is technically accurate [1] and extremely interesting if you look at it as Google attempting to do the work that Bitcoin is doing (calculating SHA256) instead of thinking of the Bitcoin network as a general-purpose supercomputer.
Too Vast To Manage - Why Monetary Central Planning Must Fail
Submitted by MN Gordon via Economic Prism blog, (annotated by Acting-Man's Pater Tenebrarum), Beyond Human Capacity Distilling down and projecting out the economy’s limitless spectrum of interrelationships is near impossible to do with any regular accuracy. The inputs are too vast. The relationships are too erratic. The economy – complex and ever-changing interrelations. Moscow Warns Of Prompt Response After US Sends Destroyer To Black Sea
Having sent not one but two aircraft carriers into the Mediterranean in what, as we reported yesterday, was meant to be a "clear message to Russia", the US decided to further antagonize Russia when on Monday it sent the US destroyer Porter in the Black Sea "for a series of drills with allies and forces of partner nations in what the United States called a routine deployment", the US Navy announced.

Treasuries Slump After Foreign Buyers Flee From Mediocre, Tailing 2 Year Auction
One look at today's repo market levels before today's 3 Year auction would have suggested that just because 3 Year paper was trading special in repo, that we would be primed for another short squeeze. However, that did not happen. Instead, and contrary to last month's stellar 3 Year auction, moments ago the US Treasury reported that today's auction printed at a high yield of 0.93%, tailing the When Issued 0.928% by 0.2 bps.
"You Broke State Department Rules?" - Mainstream Media Confronts Hillary's "Everyone Was Doing It" Excuse

As The Markets Begin To Crack, Investors Need To See These Two Charts
By the SRSrocco Report, A SERIOUS CRACK appeared in the markets today. This was due to the lousy payroll report of only 38,000 new jobs for May. The market expected 160,000 new jobs, but it turned out to be more than four times less. This is the worst jobs report since 2010. Moreover, the jobs that we have been adding to the market for the past several years were mostly low paying service jobs like bartenders, waitresses, Walmart greeters and etc.
San Jose Police Dept. Gives "Unthinkable" Excuse Why It Did Not Crack Down On Violent Anti-Trump Protesters
By Tom Tillison Of BPR San Jose police dept. gives unthinkable excuse for decision to let criminals beat on Trump supporters San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, an avid supporter of Hillary Clinton, launched into damage control mode the day after anti-Trump thugs violently attacked Donald Trump supporters attending a campaign rally in the sanctuary city, as did the chief of police.
It's Probably Nothing: JPMorgan Recession Indicators Surge To New Cycle Highs
As the economy stalls out with dismal GDP and employment data, it is no surprise that JPMorgan is now seeing its recession indicators hitting new highs. JPM says that the probability of a recession beginning within 12 months has moved from 30% on May 5th, to 36% today... Our preferred macroeconomic indicator of the probability that a recession begins within 12 months has moved up from 30% on May 5 to 34% last week to 36% today (Table 1, bottom row and Figure 1, blue line).
ISM New York Collapses To 7-Year Lows
ISM New York's purchasing managers survey collapsed in May from 57.00 to 37.2 - the lowest since April 2009. The bloodbath is the biggest monthly drop since May 2007. While 'hope' rose rather stunningly from 56.0 to 68.0 - the highest in years, current employment and 'quantity of purchases' both plunged to cycle lows. So much for that April bounce! Note we have adjusted the chart by centring ISM NY 50 print at 0 which separates expansion from contraction. Transitory?
Dear "Initial Jobless Claims"-Creater, Explain This
Initial jobless claims printed 267k - slightly better than expected and very slightly less than last week - which is oddd because both ISM Manufacturing and ISM Service employment data suggests a very different picture indeed. Everyone knows the manufacturing industry is losing... But don't worry, the Services economy is doing great and generating jobs...
Oil Spikes On Yet Another OPEC "Oil Freeze" Headline

The $6 TRILLION Corporate Debt Implosion Begins in T-Minus 3...2...
The corporate bond market is a $6 trillion time bomb waiting to go off. It took the US to grow its corporate bond market to $3 trillion. Thanks to the Fed implementing ZIRP and holding rates there for seven years, we’ve doubled the corporate bond market, adding another $3 trillion in corporate debt… since 2009. These bonds are junk… literally. The average credit rating is junk. All told, since 2012, 75% of companies accessing the bond market have had a credit rating of single-B.
The Fascinating Story Of How The Petrodollar Was Born And Lived In Secrecy For Over 40 Years
For decades, the story of Saudi Arabia recycling petrodollars, i.e., funding the US deficit by buying US Treasuries with proceeds of its crude oil sales (mostly to the US), while the US sweetened the deal by providing the Saudis with military equipment and supplies, remained entirely in the conspiracy realm, with no confirmation or official statement from the US Treasury department.
Grant Williams Warns Of Looming 'Wealth Tax', Says "Own Physical Gold, Not ETFs"
Grant Williams, strategy advisor to Vulpes Investment Management and co-founder of Real Vision Television is always worth the read or listen, and he sat down for an interview during his time at this year's Mauldin Strategic Investment Conference to discuss his views on gold, and why physical cash is being eliminated. On the subject of gold, Williams is very quick to point out that he doesn't buy gold for the price, he owns it for what it does.
Hillary Responds To Damaging State Department Report
Following the release of the damning report by the State Department Inspector General, which as we noted earlier, found not only that Hillary's error to surrender all emails violated government policy, but that her use of private email for public business was “not an appropriate method” of preserving documents and that her practices failed to comply with department policies meant to ensure that federal record laws are followed, everyone was waiting for the official response from Hillary's camp.

Is OPEC A U.S. National Security Threat?
Republican Kevin Cramer from North Dakota is cosponsoring a bipartisan bill that will set up a commission to probe whether OPEC has used unfair means to bolster its dominance over the market and propose possible remedies on the grounds that the matter is important from a national security standpoint, reports the Financial Times. Though similar efforts in the past against OPEC have been ineffective, another cosponsor, Republican Trent Franks, is optimistic about the outcome this time around.
Blistering Demand For 2 Year Paper Surprises Bond Watchers Ahead Of Alleged Rate Hike
The last time the US Treasury had a solid 2Y auction the paper was trading very special in repo, suggesting a major short squeeze was inevitable, and that is precisely what happened. However, there was no explanation why today's just concluded sale of $26 billion in 2 year paper was as blisteringly hot as it was: it certainly wasn't the repo market, as the paper was trading comfortably north of the Y-axis all day, suggesting there was no forced squeeze into the auction.
On Krugman’s Cherry-Picking Skills - Exhibit 1: The Clinton Boom
Paul Krugman, the New York Times columnist, after obliquely informing us of his acquaintance with a literary text, “Remembrance of Booms Past”, promptly forgets and cherry-picks the data. We learn that, under the watchful eye of Bill Clinton, the U.S. economy experienced an economic boom – a fact no one would deny. Krugman then takes a cheap shot at President Reagan, claiming that Reaganomics of the 1980s had nothing to do with setting the stage for the Clinton boom of the 1990s.
Brazilian Risk Assets Slammed After New President Suffers First Corruption Scandal Crisis
Back on May 12, when Brazil's disgraced president Dilma Rousseff was impeached in a move that according to her was a "coup" and a "farce", we said that "Brazil's problems are only just starting" because "if Brazil is indeed seeking to cleanse its corrupt political class, Temer is hardly the right guy to do it.
Why One Bank Is Urging Its Clients To Dump. Oil. Now
Back in March we demonstrated how much of a historical outlier recent energy stock prices are, when we showed the ridiculous forward P/E multiple associated with energy stocks, whose earnings have collapsed not only historically but also on a forward multiple basis, resulting in a 50+ P/E forward multiple: something unprecedented in history.
