A Lil bit on Lil Pump

With shockingly little fanfare, we just passed the ten-year anniversary of Lil Pump’s debut on SoundCloud. Its a tragedy for the cultural commentariat that his era came and went so quickly. Don’t get me wrong, I was once dismissive of Lil Pump’s music. He doesn’t make it hard. His music is the perfect combination of simplicity and insubstantiality to be actively painful to listen to. Ten seconds into most of his “best” songs and you get the gist.

There’s Nothing Like Society Season

Mysterious letters under doors, interviews at Heidi’s, and juniors forced to pretend they are any different than the frosh trying to rush whatever is considered “touse” these days: society season is upon us. We let the society system run the college. Seniors are expected to retire from public life to their weird little huts. The worst people you know angle for club leadership positions from their freshman fall because they heard it has a tap line to Sticky & Icky.

The Hegemony of Theater

For those of us who didn’t grow up collecting playbills or scouring Drama Online, the Yale Theater SceneTM sneaks up on you. I remember obsessively watching the Yale Behind the Gates YouTube series, where Yale students from long ago (2016) talked about their residential colleges; with the same urgency of mentioning dining halls, every one mentioned that the residential college had a theater.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! it was in the Guilfordian publication suite and didn't work perfectly, but I got a feel for it.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I'm a purist: plain Google Docs and Grammarly, with a notion page to organize what I'm working on.

Who do you wish followed you?

Surprisingly, I don't enjoy using social media that much, so I don't really care who follows me. Anyone who wants to I guess!
