What was your first job as a journalist?
I've been working as a writer professionally since 2009, and my first job was with a money-saving blog.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No; I like my computer's keyboard better.
How is social media changing news?
It has turned most news bite-sized. It's interesting that people now have a lot more knowledge about a variety of topics but it is shallower.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Probably Miles Upshur from the Outlast series. I really like his character in what I have seen of the games, but they are very spooky.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Writing is important to me because I love the industry and I want it to be better. Reporting the abuse is the only thing that will fix it.

Email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I have a PS5, a gaming PC, and a Switch for playing games and writing about them.
What's your favorite social network?
I think all Social Media isn't great for people, but I find that Facebook is the easiest to use if you have to have one.
Who do you wish followed you?
All the indie developers I love!
Why did you become a journalist?
I love video games more than anything else, and I wanted to write about them for a living.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked for my college's fiction paper briefly, and I have worked for a major newspaper network, but I love online news over print.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am pretty proud of the first link in my portfolio; I enjoy covering the why of changing tech.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Never stop writing and never stop reading no matter how many rejections you get,

What's the best pitch you ever got?
I had this one client that begged me to rewrite a fiction story that someone wrote very poorly. It paid well and was fun!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
There was once a pitch to a group of authors for some very, VERY terrible Bugs Bunny fanfiction.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee!
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In front of a console or on a walk.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Probably Kotaku.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That all gaming journalists are male! There are so many people I work with of all genders!
