LENG8 granule regulates alternative polyadenylation in mammals
Abstract Membraneless organelles (MLOs) participate in multiple cellular processes and layers of gene regulation. Alternative polyadenylation (APA) represents a pervasive gene regulatory mechanism that generates distinct 3′ untranslated regions (UTRs) in transcripts. However, whether specific MLOs exist in mammals to regulate APA remains largely unknown. Here, we unveil a nuclear body, termed the LENG8 granule (G granule), that functions as an active hub for APA regulation.
Observation of Higher-Order Assemblies Controlled by Protein One-dimensional Movement
Abstract RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) detect cytosolic viral RNAs and initiate innate immune response. MDA5 is an RLR that recognizes viral long double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). The central helicase and C-terminal domains of MDA5 form a ring-like clamp around dsRNA, and its activation requires the oligomerization of N-terminal caspase activation and recruitment domains (CARDs). Another RLR, LGP2, lacks CARDs but plays essential roles in MDA5 signaling.
Optical trapping-driven supramolecular photochirogenesis via higher-order complexation
Fluorescence lifetimes of AC-containing species in the aggregate We also measured the fluorescence lifetimes of the AC-containing species in the aggregate before, during, and after optical trapping to elucidate the number and relative contributions, as well as the increases and decreases, of fluorescent species optically trapped in the focal volume (see Note S3 and Figure S2).
Synergetic Effects in the Enantiodifferentiating Photocyclo-dimerization of 2-Anthracenecarboxylic Acid Mediated by β-Cyclodextrin-Pillar[5]arene-Hybridized Tri-cavity Hosts
Synergetic Effects in the Enantiodifferentiating Photocyclo-dimerization of 2-Anthracenecarboxylic Acid Mediated by β-Cyclodextrin-Pillar[5]arene-Hybridized Tri-cavity Hosts Tri-cavity hosts consisting of one pillar[5]arene (P5) sandwiched by two -cyclodextrins (CD) were synthesized, and their diastereoseparation was successfully accomplished.

Efficient Triplet-Triplet Annihilation Upconversion with an Anti-Stokes Shift of 1.08 eV Achieved by Chemically Tuning Sensitizers
A series of Pt(II)–Schiff base complexes were synthesized as triplet sensitizers for the purpose of tuning the singlet and triplet energy levels so as to minimize energy loss during triplet–triplet annihilation (TTA) upconversion (UC). A deep-red to blue TTA-UC was achieved with an unprecedentedly large anti-Stokes shift of 1.08 eV. UC quantum yields of up to 21% (with a theoretical maximum efficiency of 50%) were observed in solution.
