Terahertz inner and outer edge modes in a tetramer of strongly coupled spoof localized surface plasmons
Abstract Photonic edge mode confining light in cavities of surface plasmons is beneficial in image and biosensor applications. In the terahertz band, however, the edge mode in a cavity of spoof localized surface plasmons has not matured sufficiently. Herein, a cost-effective strategy to achieve a terahertz photonic edge mode using a metasurface of strongly coupled fourfold spoof localized surface plasmons in a tetramer layout is demonstrated.
Tuning Nitrogen in Graphitic Carbon Nitride Enabling Enhanced Performance for Polysulfide Confinement in Li-S Batteries
The cycling performance of lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries, which is a major parameter determining the practical application of such an advanced high-energy-density battery system (1675 mA h g–1), is strongly affected by the properties of the cathodic sulfur hosts. As a desirable sulfur host, it should possess high surface area, good electronic conductivity, and superior physisorption and chemisorption to polysulfides.
Recent advances in the interface engineering of solid-state Li-ion batteries with artificial buffer layers: challenges, materials, construction, and characterization
Recent advances in the interface engineering of solid-state Li-ion batteries with artificial buffer layers: challenges, materials, construction, and characterization Although solid-state Li-ion batteries (SSBs) provides opportunities to simplify safety measures (e.g., sophisticated thermal management systems, overpressure vents, charge interruption devices) currently used in the conventional Li-ion batteries (LIBs) with flammable organic liquid electrolytes, the poor interface compatibility...
