INTRODUCTION The textile industry uses large amounts of non-renewable natural resources in its processing steps, including natural fibers, synthetic fibers derived from petroleum, fertilizers for cotton crops, and inputs for the manufacture of dyes and other finishing products for textiles, as well as significant water consumption. Textile industry processes generate various types of waste, water-based effluents, atmospheric emissions, solid waste, and hazardous waste.
