Interview

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means you have a front-row seat to life, and it's your responsibility to tell people what you see.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email me: missysuewilkinson@gmail.com

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

An iMac, InCopy, an iPad and Bluetooth keyboard for field interviews, a Canon EOS Rebel T2i, red pens.

Who do you wish followed you?

EVERYONE. I'm power-hungry.

Why did you become a journalist?

Dumb luck. I'd dropped out of a PhD program, been fired, and figured I had nothing to lose by applying for an internship at Gambit.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be really good at writing, and be nice to everyone. Meet your deadlines. Put your writing where people can see it.
