A federal grand jury on Monday indicted a man accused of stealing from Mid-City bank last month and threatening the teller with a bomb, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Dustin Badeaux, 41, faces a charge of bank robbery. “I have a bomb in the bottom of this bag. Give me all your money! Hurry up," Badeaux allegedly demanded of the teller at the First Horizons Bank at 11:27 a.m. on May 9.

Flood advisory issued for Jefferson, St. Charles; flash flood warnings posted north of Lake Pontchartrain

Jefferson and St. Charles parishes are under a flood advisory until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Flooding is possible in low-laying area as heavy rain moves through the area, the NWS said. One to three inches of rain had fallen as of around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Body found in Lake Pontchartrain near West End, New Orleans police say

New Orleans police are investigating an unclassified death after passersby spotted a body in the lake near West End Friday afternoon. Police went to the 8000 block of Lakeshore Drive shortly before 1 p.m. and found a deceased person. The person has not yet been identified, and their cause of death will be released by the coroner. New Orleans police had searched the lake Wednesday evening for a missing swimmer, according to reporting by Fox 8.
