Recorded and predicted occurrence of slime moulds (Eumycetozoa) in Poland from Central and Eastern European data
The analytical workflow was implemented in R with explicit logging of software versions and key dataset characteristics, so that all steps from data harmonisation to mapping can be repeated on the published Darwin Core resource. Early inspection of core taxonomic, temporal and geographic fields after data import provided a first assessment of data suitability for analyses of Eumycetozoa in Poland, allowing the detection of obvious anomalies or gaps before checklist construction and modelling.
Substrate affinities of slime moulds (Eumycetozoa) and their potential as indicators of forest microhabitat conditions
In temperate forests, slime moulds (Eumycetozoa), as treated in contemporary classifications of eukaryotes and myxomycetes (Adl et al., 2012, 2019; Leontyev et al., 2019; Tekle et al., 2022), inhabit microhabitats such as bark, dead wood, bryophyte mats and leaf litter. Within these microhabitats, trophic stages develop within microbial biofilms and detrital matrices and sporocarps are produced episodically under suitable microclimatic conditions (Stephenson & Stempen, 2000; Stephenson, 1989).
Licinophilus depressus n. gen., sp. n. (Eugregarinida: Stenophoridae) from Licinus depressus (Coleoptera: Carabidae)
The imago specimens of L. depressus were collected between June and September of 2024 in the city of Dnipro (Central Ukraine). Field experiments were approved by the Research Council of the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University (project number: 0122U001225). To catch the beetles, we used Barber’s pitfall traps (Hohbein & Conwey, 2018; Litavský & Prokop, 2023), which were placed in groups of 5 to 10 across several ecosystems in the territory of the bank of the Dnipro River: 1.

Protist taxonomic and functional diversity in aquatic ecosystems of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest
Protist community richness and heterogeneity in freshwater and brackish systems from Atlantic Forest The sequencing generated a total of 1,742,075 reads. After all quality filtering steps, 253,637 reads with an average sequence length of 350 bp remained for downstream analysis. After clustering at 97% similarity, a total of 2,692 OTUs were retrieved.
