1 Introduction Sedating antihistamines may precipitate delirium, but a recent systematic review found that evidence of this association is inconclusive [1]. Despite the potential risks, sedating antihistamines are commonly prescribed in the inpatient setting [2]. We sought to clarify the association between sedating antihistamines and delirium among hospitalized older adults using non-sedating antihistamines as an active comparator.
