Abstract Introduction Team-Based Learning (TBL) is an effective learning model utilized in education to address the concerns of student active learning, participation, critical thinking and teamwork. However, faculty members must invest significant time in preparing TBL sessions, creating appropriate material and assessments, preparing paper answer sheets for group tests, and managing the logistics of student groups.

1 BACKGROUND There is this enduring myth: that the diagnosis of a sick patient is a predominantly rational process. The physician collects signs and symptoms guided by the patient's disease history and presenting complaint, conducts physical examination and, if necessary, laboratory tests, and arrives at a differential diagnosis based on their findings. Much of medicine rests on the assumption that this process is unbiased.
