What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job was to interview a few people on the phone about their voting preferences and the selfie they would have taken after that.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, not long back. I used one in 2009. It was one old piece belonging to my school's principal.
How is social media changing news?
Social media is distorting real news. Many views less information. In fact there is no truth in today's social media inputs.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I don't have such. In fact, I have no favorite journalist. I do admire my mentors for teaching me everything but I have no favorite.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
At first it was like a dream job but now it has become more like a responsibility to keep my juniors on track.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I would prefer through mail and on phone ocassionally.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
For writing stories, I use Grammarly online...Along with that, I use Davinci Resolve for video editing and photoshop.
What's your favorite social network?
I don't know.. I have no such list
Who do you wish followed you?
All the juniors.. I want them to follow my path instead of the path of corruption that some of my seniors have moved to.
Why did you become a journalist?
May be because I loved writing and it gave me an opportunity to become someone everyone knew.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, there were no high school newspaper in our school back then.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I proud of the stories which bring the wrong doings of the government to light
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Never get involved with politicians
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime after 11 am
What's the best pitch you ever got?
I don't know.. May be the stories where I brought out the truth that there were no surveillance cameras in Guwahati.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I was once asked to interview a woman whose husband was arrested just an hour ago on corruption charges.
What's your favorite drink?
I love drinking an energy drink know as Hell. Its tastes like Red Bull but is much cheaper.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Somewhere hiking or may be playing the guitar. I am not really a person with a social circle. I prefer being alone
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I read NDTV and The Hindu. I love their style of covering a story,
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
People think that since I cover law and order, I get stories very easily.
