1 Introduction With global methane (CH4) demand expected to reach 4–5 trillion cubic meters annually by 2030, converting captured CO2 and green hydrogen into synthetic natural gas, i.e. CO2 methanation, has attracted growing interest as a potential route for long-duration energy storage and carbon utilization [1-4]. Photothermal CO2 methanation is a desirable pathway that uses only solar energy as the input, eliminating the need for secondary energy sources [5-8].
