The southwesterly flow continues over the Pacific Northwest as a nearly stationary low remains in the Gulf of Alaska. Pieces of energy (instability) and moisture continue moving across the Oregon Blues providing a chance for hit or miss thunderstorms through Wednesday. The fire danger will increase in the Blues due to the potential for lightning strike fires. A warming trend arrives tomorrow in the southerly flow pushing our highs into the upper 90s-low 100s Tuesday-Thursday.

Sunday a nearly stationary low will continue to develop over the Gulf of Alaska, producing a south to southwesterly flow over the Pacific Northwest. This flow will send a little moisture and instability into the Blues providing them with a slight chance for PM stray shower or thunderstorm through Wednesday. The southerly flow will also start a warming trend on Monday with temperatures climbing to near 100 degrees by Wednesday for the Columbia Basin and adjacent valleys.

The weather looks great for Water Follies with plenty of sunshine, lighter winds and highs in the low 90s. Sunday a closed low develops in the Gulf of Alaska producing a south to southwesterly flow over the region. This flow will push some limited moisture and some weak instability into the Blue, resulting in a slight chance for afternoon/evening thunderstorms Sunday and Monday.
