1 Introduction The reproductive performances have an economic impact on the livestock industry. Numerous studies have been conducted over the years to improve reproductive efficiency in sheep farming, as reproduction is a complex and multifaceted system influenced by many environmental factors. Furthermore, several genes are involved in the control of different reproductive traits and have an impact on reproductive performances, including fertility and prolificacy (Drouilhet et al. 2009).
