Moshe Newhouse, a contemporary abstract painter, graduated from the Montclair State University with a degree in Fine Art. His work is based on oil paint's playful and physical curiosities. Moshe Newhouse’s abstract paintings are based on Old Masters paintings, rendered in a characteristic chiaroscuro style. He then takes on these images in a somewhat violent but ingenious manner by puncturing, puncturing, scratching or mutilating the surface using knifes, scalpels, heavy impasto paint and diluent.
