It didn’t make your list, right? At the helm of the 13,000-pound Mackvader, Mike Morgan has entered his 1998 Mack CH in several forms of motorsports: road racing, autocross, drag racing, oval track racing, top speed challenges and even drifting. “It’s like an old muscle car,” Mike says.

To finish first, you must first finish. Cliché? Very much so. Accurate? Absolutely. Road racers often say oval-trackers overbuild their cars. Well, try racing door handle to door handle, lap after lap, on a tight quarter-mile. Contact is inevitable. Oval-track car builders construct their cars to last. But, how is that any different for endurance racers? While road racing discourages contact, two 7-hour races test the durability of a machine.

I played ‘Gran Turismo.’” Back when Sony’s famed release changed everything in 1997, Pat Guzowski put together a plan: When the Skyline GT-R turns 25 years old, be in position to buy one. Kids, school and life in general pushed back that quest a bit, but earlier this year Pat started the hunt for an R32-chassis Skyline GT-R. Small problem: Prices have gone up in the past three years, leaving just sketchy examples in his price range.
