Significant changes have been made to the UAE's labor dispute resolution process with the introduction of Federal Decree Law No. 20 of 2023 (the "Decree"). This Decree amends some provisions of the Federal Decree Law No. 33 of 2021 (the "Labour Law") The changes primarily revolve around empowering the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization ("MOHRE") to play a more decisive role in labor dispute resolution.

Soccer Club Hosts First Under-8 Tournament

The Alameda Soccer Club (ASC) hosted their inaugural Under-8 recreational tournament Nov. 18 and 19 at Wood Middle School. In spite of the rain, six boys’ and five girls’ teams played two matches each on Saturday, resulting in the Team Brazil boys’ and the Team Italy girls’ teams earning the top seat in their respective divisions. The sun returned for Sunday’s elimination rounds, and the competition heated up as multiple games went into extra time and penalty kicks.
