Agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis), a critically endangered species prized for its resinous heartwood, represents one of the most valuable agroforestry commodities in Northeast India. Assam, with its favorable Agro-climatic conditions and centuries-old cultivation tradition, is a global production hub. However, the absence of systematic spatial data on existing plantations and potential cultivation zones constrains evidence-based planning.
