Mehmet Şafak Sarı’s Biography
His working fields are information security, information disorder, new media, and means of communications. He provides Digital Communications Consultancy and design (Dataviz, Web Site, and social media) to various individuals and institutions.
He is one of the instructors of Journalists' Union of Turkey Journalism Academy (TGS Journalism) Academy and he also provided to the Journalists’ Union of Turkey (TGS) for new media and digital security training more times.
He a freelance journalist on Journo since 2016.
He was a founding member and president of the Common Knowledge and Communication Association (TBİD) between 2017 to 2022. He was formerly one of the coordinators of Digital Security Project. He has been organizing activities and workshops within the scope of this project. Also, He provides training in security and safety to journalists.
He is a co-founder, former managing editor NewsLabTurkey which is a digital journalism academy between 2018 to 2020. NewsLabTurkey is supported by The Guardian Foundation and The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
He is a member of International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).
In 2020, He was nominated as one of The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) which is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. In this program, he made business visits to dozens of journalism organizations in the US and attended training, and participated in various workshops.
