The Effects of Local Stresses on Ribbing Experimental microstructural measurements (Table 4) were used for the FE models. The local stress-state of the first mesh corresponding to specimen A was used to investigate the behavior of the ribbed material (Figure 7). The Von Mises stress, which was normalized by the instantaneous elongation modulus of the material, shows the maximum stress is approximately one-third of the instantaneous modulus at the top surface of the outermost peaks.
