1. Introduction Remittance is considered one of the main supporting financial pillars of Bangladesh’s economy. Trailing closely behind the export of ready-made garments (RMG), remittance sent home by expatriate workers is the second-largest source of foreign exchange earnings for the country. Therefore, remittance inflow is a substantial source of foreign exchange earnings in Bangladesh, extending a major external financial lifeline for its economy (Barai 2020).
