A stable diffusion–based framework for multi-class stroke lesion segmentation in non-contrast brain CT
The results presented in this study demonstrate the effectiveness of SDMC-Seg, a latent diffusion-based model tailored for multi-class brain stroke segmentation in CT images. Unlike conventional segmentation architectures, SDMC-Seg combines a denoising diffusion model with compact latent representations learned through a mask autoencoder. This design leads to improved accuracy, particularly in ischemic and hemorrhagic regions, which are clinically critical yet challenging to delineate.
Mapping quality of life in Norway: psychometric evaluation and network analysis of 15,148 responses from a public health study
Overall, the NQoLS measures demonstrated acceptable reliability and validity, supporting their use in public health surveillance of SRH and QoL. Sensitivity analysis suggests that the measures’ performances were stable across languages. While most measures performed well, a few of them may benefit from minor refinements to improve model fit or enhance sensitivity.

Research progress of tsRNAs in kidney diseases
Approximately 10% of adults worldwide currently suffer from chronic kidney disease (CKD), leading to around 1.2 million deaths annually (Kalantar-Zadeh et al., 2021). In Asia, the number of CKD patients is as high as 443 million, with nearly 160 million in China alone (Liyanage et al., 2022). This disease is characterized by its irreversible progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD), which inevitably results in patient mortality (Kalantar-Zadeh et al., 2021).

Fine-tuned deep transfer learning: an effective strategy for the accurate chronic kidney disease classification
Chronic kidney diseases (CKD) are becoming a major threat to the healthcare discipline due to their high mortality rates causing a large number of deaths. According to the study conducted on World Kidney Day in 2021, CKDs were accountable for almost 2.4 million deaths per year making CKD the 6th leading source of death (Kalantar-Zadeh et al., 2021).
Predictors of county-level diabetes-related mortality risks in Florida, USA: a retrospective ecological study
This study investigated geographic disparities and predictors of county-level DRMR in Florida. The findings are crucial in identifying counties with high mortality risks and predictors of the identified spatial patterns so as to provide information for targeted evidence-based health programs to reduce DRMR in Florida.

Prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus and impaired fasting glucose, and their associated lifestyle factors among teachers in the CLUSTer cohort
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to report the prevalence of T2DM, undiagnosed DM and IFG, among teachers in Malaysia. When comparing the findings within teachers across countries, the prevalence of known T2DM among Malaysian teachers (4.1%) was lower than that of teachers in other countries such as India (6.5%) and Nigeria (5.6%), with matched teachers’ age ranges (Elegbede, Sanni & Alabi, 2022; Llone et al., 2014).

Ethanolamine-phosphate phospho-lyase (ETNPPL) contributes to the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common type of primary liver cancer that occurs in chronic liver disease (Wallace et al., 2015). In the 2020 global cancer incidence and mortality data published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), out of 36 cancer types in 185 countries, there were about 900,000 new cases of HCC, accounting for 4.7% of new cancer cases (Sung et al., 2021).

The role of exercise in improving hyperlipidemia-renal injuries induced by a high-fat diet: a literature review
Oxidative stress Oxidative stress is a state of imbalance between oxidation and antioxidation; the oxidation reaction is predominant (Qiao, Chen & Zhang, 2023). The mechanism by which hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia promote systemic oxidative stress is unclear. Oxidative stress appears in the early stages of renal injury, which is significantly important for the occurrence and development of high-fat induced renal injury (Scheuer et al., 2000).

Allocation of development assistance for health: is the predominance of national income justified?
Human potential lost to poor health is immense. In 2012, 39% of global potential healthy life years were lost to premature death or compromised by disability (Murray et al. 2015). There are large differences across regions, both in the total size of the disease burden and the type of prevailing diseases.
