Interview
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Khadijah James (Living Single) and Sidney Shaw (Brown Sugar), hands down. They are the reasons I decided to become a music journalist.
Who do you wish followed you?
Beyoncé, duh!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Stories about R&B history will always be top tier for me.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write about what you love and find a way to get paid for it. It's okay to start small, but be strategic about how you brand yourself.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In bed, asleep. Pre-pandemic, I'd be traveling somewhere.
