1 Introduction Color vision deficiency (CVD) is an inherited ocular disorder characterized by an impaired ability to distinguish specific colors due to variations in the activation of photoreceptor cones located in the retina.[1-3] These cones are categorized into three types based on their sensitivity to distinct wavelengths of light: short (S), medium (M), and long (L) cones, which correspond to blue, green, and red light, respectively (Figure 1a).
