Down-staging depth score could be a survival predictor for locally advanced breast cancer patients after neoadjuvant chemotherapy
Abstract This study aimed to verify whether the Down-staging Depth Score (DDS), a novel prognostic indicator, could serve as a robust early predictor of long-term outcomes in patients with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC). A total of 783 eligible patients with LABC from four tertiary cancer centres were retrospectively enrolled between January 2017 and December 2023. All patients received standard NAC followed by curative surgery.

Effects of predictive nursing interventions on pressure ulcer in older bedridden patients: A meta‐analysis
1 INTRODUCTION Pressure ulcers, also known as pressure injuries,1 is a limited injury to the skin or subcutaneous tissue that occurs at the bony prominence as a result of force.2 Pressure ulcers can lead to life-threatening systemic infections.3 The global population is aging rapidly, and people aged 65 years and over are the group with the highest growth rate in most countries.4 With the acceleration of the global aging process and the continuous progress of medical and health care, the life...
ADORA2A-driven proline synthesis triggers epigenetic reprogramming in neuroendocrine prostate and lung cancers
Abstract Cell lineage plasticity is one of the major causes for the failure of targeted therapies in various cancers. However, the driver and actionable drug targets in promoting cancer cell lineage plasticity are scarcely identified. Here, we found that a G protein-coupled receptor, ADORA2A, is specifically upregulated during neuroendocrine differentiation, a common form of lineage plasticity in prostate cancer and lung cancer following targeted therapies.

Renal outcomes and prognostic factors in patients with type-2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease confirmed by renal biopsy
Introduction Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most common complications of type-2 diabetes (T2D) and the leading cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) worldwide.1,2 The extensive application of renal biopsy indicates that coincident chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients with T2D can be DN, non-diabetic renal disease (NDRD), or DN mixed with NDRD.3 Clinical manifestation and management of CKD vary widely among different pathologic types.
A novel mouse model for liver metastasis of prostate cancer reveals dynamic tumour‐immune cell communication
1 INTRODUCTION Metastasis is the major cause of prostate cancer (PCa)-related death.1 Bone metastasis, as one of the most common metastatic sites in advanced PCa, has been extensively investigated over the past decades.2 Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that liver is a frequently afflicted site in advanced PCa, especially in disease relapse after treatment of potent androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPI).3 In particular, it has been reported by independent groups that a large...
