1 Introduction Thioxanthone derivatives possess numerous properties that have attracted interest. Indeed, although they have been used as photocatalysts in polymerization reactions and other chemical transformations [1-3], their applications are mainly at the interface with biology [4]. Lucanthone [5] (Figure 1, compound A) and its active metabolite, hycanthone [6] (B), were among the first bioactive compounds identified in this series, both acting as schistosomicides.
