Give Fudge a Chance
Review by Kristina A, Reviewer Last updated on 15 May 2023 Give Fudge a Chance by Nancy Coco takes us back to Mackinac Island where Allie McMurphy is entering her latest fudge creation in the county fair. I always enjoy returning to Mackinac Island. I like the author’s beautiful descriptions of the island. She brings the island to life with her vivid word imagery. It sounds like a lovely vacation spot (I am not sure I would want to live there in the winter--burr).

Sifting through Amazon’s long list of reading options and strolling the crowded aisles of bookstores can be tiring, though.

The Cozy Mysteries of the Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest is known for its spectacular views and dark and rainy beaches. There are deep green rainforests filled with redwoods and tall trees. With its miles and miles of hiking trails, it’s known for its mountains, the Columbia River Gorge, and Lewis and Clark’s expedition. I think it’s also the perfect area for writers and mysteries—and that’s the reason why I set my latest cozy series along the Oregon Coast.

During one of the beach walks Everett enjoys on his leash, he alerts Wren to a dead body.
Jackie Dale, CatMother:TNR, Egypt, and A Bottle Baby
by Jackie Dale The past month has been very stressful. Adoptions have been slow, and the rescues have not been accepting cats because, big surprise, they are full to the rafters. My son’s medical condition has been in serious decline, and I have had to focus most of my attention on him and his needs. That means I have often been forced to say “no” when I would normally say “yes.” I’m trying to focus on clearing out my foster ladies before the cats get too much older.
