Nandini Mony’s Biography

Nandini Mony is a reporter and multimedia journalist based in Philadelphia. She covers identity, immigration, and culture — with a particular interest in stories that fall between borders, both literal and political. She studied journalism at USC Annenberg, reported for Annenberg Media, and interned at Vox Media. After graduating, she spent a year in Mumbai, where she received staff offers from NDTV and Thomson Reuters, which she ultimately couldn't accept due to restrictions on OCI cardholders working in Indian media. She left a communications job to pursue reporting anyway, and came back more certain than ever that she wants to cover the places where law and policy meet real people's lives.
