Identification of the Novel HLA-B*51:405 Allele in a Chinese Cord Blood Donor

HLA is one of the most polymorphic loci in humans [1]. Currently, a total of 44,775 HLA alleles have been identified according to the IPD-IMGT/HLA Database (Release 3.64, April 2026), including 11,110 HLA-B alleles [2]. Here, we describe a novel allele HLA-B*51:405 that has been identified in a Chinese cord blood donor from the Zhejiang Provincial Cord Blood Bank, China.
