rmCombi-OGAB for the Directed Evolution of a Biosynthetic Gene Cluster toward Productivity Improvement
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! In synthetic biology, combinatorial libraries of various genetic elements (e.g., coding genes, promoters, and ribosome-binding sites) play a critical role in building novel biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) and optimizing the production of target products. (1,2) The gene synthesis technology, OGAB ( Ordered Gene Assembly in B acillus subtilis), (3) enables assembly of multiple DNA fragments to long and complex DNA sequences.

Borate-mediated aryl polyfluoroalkoxylation under transition-metal-free conditions
Borate-mediated aryl polyfluoroalkoxylation under transition-metal-free conditions We describe the transition-metal-free coupling for polyfluoroalkoxy arenes using polyfluoroalkoxy borates, which serve as counterions to diaryliodonium salts and transferring mediators of polyfluoroalkoxy groups. This strategy demonstrates high functional group compatibility owing to the low nucleophilicity of the borate mediator, thus offering a practical approach for synthesizing diverse polyfluoroalkoxy arenes.
Development of a laser for chirp cooling of positronium to near the recoil limit using a chirped pulse-train generator
We present the development and characterization of a pulsed 243-nm laser designed for cooling positronium (Ps) to near the recoil limit. The laser, based on the recent chirped pulse-train generator (CPTG) demonstrated by Yamada et al. [K. Yamada et al., Phys. Rev. Appl. 16, 014009 (2021)], outputs a train of pulses with spectral widths of 10GHz. The center frequency of each pulse is shifted upward (up-chirped) in time by 4.9×102GHzµs−1.
Wavefront restoration from lateral shearing data using spectral interpolation
Although a lateral-shear interferometer is robust against optical component vibrations, its interferogram provides information about differential wavefronts rather than the wavefronts themselves, resulting in the loss of specific frequency components. Previous studies have addressed this limitation by measuring four interferograms with different shear amounts to accurately restore the two-dimensional wavefront.

Preparation of Biopex-Supported Gold Nanoparticles as Potential Fiducial Markers for Image-Guided Radiation Therapy
Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) has emerged as a promising technique for cancer treatment to improve radiation precision and accuracy, thereby reducing the treatment toxicity and optimizing therapeutic efficacy. In IGRT, fiducial markers are required to be inserted near the tumor to get the spatial information of the tumor. Currently used metal fiducial markers with large sizes would be highly invasive; therefore, it is critical to develop minimally invasive alternatives to these markers.
