Abstract To address the increasing demand for Onion globally, enhancing seed production is crucial. In India, mid hill regions of Himachal Pradesh offer favorable conditions for onion seed production. The experimental site in Himachal Pradesh is located at an altitude of 1183 m above mean sea level in the mid-hill sub-humid temperate agro-climatic zone. The region is characterized by mild summers and cool winters, receiving an average annual rainfall of 1000–1300 mm.

Potential of epiphytic yeasts against Alternaria Brassicicola causaing alternaria leaf spot of Cauliflower

Six antagonistic yeast isolates from different sources were tested for their resistance against Alternaria brassicicola under in vitro conditions. Saccharomyces cerevisiae isolates, namely, BK1 to BK7 inhibited the hyphal growth of pathogen in the range of 59.72 to 43.61 %, respectively. Out of 6 isolates BK 1 showed the best result against the tested pathogen.
