Abstract To examine the findings of pyomyositis by computed tomography (CT) imaging at autopsy to establish the correct diagnostic approach for this disease in the postmortem setting. A total of 6,964 autopsy cases with CT imaging from two forensic center databases were examined to identify primary pyomyositis. Basic demographics, external findings, postmortem CT findings, and autopsy results were reviewed. Ten cases of primary pyomyositis were identified.

After removing duplicates, 4,736 sources were identified from the electronic searches. Based on the titles and abstracts, 4,697 were excluded. We assessed 39 sources for eligibility in full-text screening and excluded 10 sources. We included 26 trials (from 29 reports). The study selection flowchart is presented in Fig. 1. Abstract The increasing global drug shortage poses a substantial challenge to national healthcare systems and affects access to essential therapies. In Japan, this problem is exacerbated by a large-scale government campaign to switch from brand-name products to generic drugs and manufacturing/marketing authorization holders with poor development and manufacturing controls.
