1 Introduction C-reactive protein (CRP) is recognized as an acute-phase protein produced through IL-6-dependent hepatic biosynthesis. It indicates significantly elevated levels in response to injuries, infections, and inflammatory conditions (Sproston and Ashworth 2018). CRP is a valuable clinical marker of inflammation, and an elevated CRP level is recognized as a robust independent predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Introduction Chronic heart disease (CHD) is a serious problem in public health in the world. The prevalence of this disease has enhanced considerably in developed and developing countries (1). CHD is a leading cause of death in the world, claiming the lives of up to 17.5 million people each year (2). The underlying cause of CHD is atherosclerosis, an inactive, progressive condition characterized by the deposition of excess cholesterol in the sub endothelial space (3, 4).
