Why did you become a journalist?
I wasn't any good at math, so I read a lot, then realized I wanted to be a writer.

My high school didn't have a newspaper, but I worked as a staff writer and chief photographer at my college paper.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Persistence is key. You will get many rejections, but don't be disheartened. Slide it over and keep moving forward.

Some type of device for a parent that seemed unnecessary and impractical.
