An engineer says OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra model broke the 217-yeasr old Napoleonic military cyber in no more than six hours. Separately, French researchers processed 32,763 medieval manuscripts in four months while deliberately excluding large language models (LLM), because those systems tend to invent plausible words during their manuscript AI analysis. The two projects demonstrate that manuscript AI analysis is re-examining historic research, but different tasks call for very different tools.

On October 1, Germany’s VDMA engineering association called on Berlin and Europe to build domestic supply chains for humanoid robots Europe components, saying the sector should be a top a political priority, as China’s Unitree listing highlighted how quickly global competition in robotics is scaling production worldwide.

On September 30, Google launched Gemini 4 Argon giving selected cybersecurity teams-controlled access through its Fairwind Program as Gemini cyber security testing begins around an AI model designed to find, validate, and patch software vulnerabilities autonomously for defenders. Gemini 4 Argon is not simply another chatbot, as Google designed it for coding, research, engineering, and long reasoning tasks.
