High molecular weight CS, with a deacetylation degree of at least 75% and a viscosity range of 200–800 cps, along with polyethylene glycol (PEG) with an average molecular weight of 400,000, were procured from Sigma–Aldrich. Additional reagents, including zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn(NO₃)₂·6 H₂O), 2-methylimidazole, and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazole-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), were also sourced from Sigma–Aldrich.
