Drawing from the cognitive appraisal theory of emotions, this study hypothesizes and comparatively tests the effects of empathetic management and cultural intelligence on employee attitudes and behaviours in international business settings. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 257 employees at a major U.S. motor coach company serving international clients (response rate: 59.21%). The asymptotically unbiased PLSF-SEM method was employed to test the theoretical model.
