Europium is an f-block element that forms stable coordination compounds with a variety of ligands, particularly β-diketonates, via oxygen. The β-diketonates is a group of compounds which is available naturally in fungi, bacteria, and plants having a lot of biological worth. In this review, we have discussed various synthetic methodologies employed in the preparation of europium β-diketonate complexes.
